Welcome
The purpose of this handbook is to inform students of the rules, regulations, and policies required for success in the Paramedicine Technology Program. Graduates of the program are qualified to sit for the NREMT examination.
The Paramedicine/EMS profession requires a high level of personal and professional discipline to succeed. The faculty believes that both students and instructors are accountable for academic success. Although faculty and students have different roles, both play an important role in the success of this process. While the faculty is committed to student success, achievement of such can only be accomplished when the student is committed to learning and implementing the material.
The information provided throughout this handbook is important to your success in this program. Please use the information to your advantage and refer to it as often as needed. While the provisions of this handbook will be followed as written, the Paramedicine Technology Program reserves the right to modify its policies, procedures, or requirements as needed to maintain accreditation standards, compliance, and safety regulations. Students will be notified of any changes through their student email and Blackboard courses. It is each student’s responsibility to review these communications and respond accordingly. Should you have questions or encounter issues not addressed within the handbook, please see one of the faculty.
This Handbook will inform students of what is acceptable. It also provides information on the consequences of unacceptable conduct. The student is responsible for following all policies and procedures of the College and our clinical and field affiliates.
Success as a student depends upon understanding and adhering to the rules, regulations, and policies of the Paramedicine Technology Program. Behavior, attitude, dress, and overall conduct will be closely monitored. The faculty and staff are here to facilitate your learning. The discipline gained will be of great benefit as a professional emergency care provider.
Your clinical and field experience will be highly beneficial. Consider all clinical and field education as an interview for future employment. Preceptors are in place to evaluate your clinical performance and your ability to work as part of a team. These preceptors also contact program faculty and the clinical coordinator regarding your clinical and field performance/ability and work ethic.
Know that we are committed to you. We are also committed to your education. If you need any assistance, please feel free to contact us at any time.
