Student Work Related Job Policy
The Ogeechee Technical College Paramedicine Technology and EMS Professions program faculty take a “hands-off” position related to student extra curriculum or work-related employment in the area emergency medical services or other facilities. Outside regularly scheduled program hours, employment is strictly between the employer and the student. However, the student must be aware that they are no longer under the umbrella of Ogeechee Technical College. This means the student cannot fulfill any school-related requirements while being a paid staff member of that service or facility. The students’ continuation in the program may be jeopardized if found performing clinical or field related activities during employment.
Students must make all efforts to attend class, field, and clinical assignments so to complete their academic obligation. Your academic education should be your top priority and therefore arrange your work schedules with your employers accordingly.
This statement is not to deter the student from employment, just to inform the student that during the hours of employment, they are not considered a student of the Paramedicine Technology or EMS Professions programs at Ogeechee Technical College.
