Classroom and Lab Management Policy
The Ogeechee Technical College Paramedicine Technology program has lecture, computer and laboratory classrooms. The lab contains equipment that requires proper instructions prior to operation.
Students must not attempt to operate equipment prior to proper instructions.
• Lab experience will be done under direct and indirect supervision.
• Keep floors and walking areas clear of clutter including backpacks.
• Turn off all equipment after use.
• Report all damaged equipment to the program faculty.
• Closed-toed shoes and appropriate dress must be worn at all times in the lab.
• No horseplay during lab experience.
• Exercise caution when using needles, glass, or other breakable/sharp items.
• Return all equipment to proper storage areas.
• It is everyone’s responsibility to learn locations of all fire extinguishers, fire alarm-pull locations, evacuation routes, AEDs, and expected behavior.
• The student must be sure his/her work area is clean before leaving. Do not write on any desks, mouse pads, or computers.
• Accessing inappropriate internet sites is not allowed. Any site, which contains adult oriented materials, is considered inappropriate. Violation of this policy could subject students to disciplinary action.
• Computers and supplies in the labs are to be used for class-related purposes only.
• Be sure to log off all computers and remove all external devices by leaving the lab.
• Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) will be maintained. A yellow notebook containing all MSDS is located in the lab.
