Scope of Practice
Paramedic
Students within the Paramedicine Technology Program shall agree to perform the duties of a Paramedic only under the direct supervision of a qualified preceptor. Under no circumstance should a student work independently within an institutional department or ambulance. Paramedic preceptors must be Physicians, Physician’s Assistants, RNs, Respiratory Therapists, or Paramedics.
Advanced EMT
Students within the AEMT Program shall agree to perform the duties of an Advanced only under the direct supervision of a qualified preceptor. Under no circumstance should a student work independently within an institutional department or ambulance. AEMT preceptors must be Physicians, Physician’s Assistants, RN, Paramedics or AEMTs.
EMT
Students within the EMT Program shall agree to perform the duties of an EMT only under the direct supervision of a qualified preceptor. Under no circumstance should a student work independently within an institutional department or ambulance. EMT preceptors must be Physicians, Physician’s Assistants, RN, Paramedics, AEMTs, or EMT-Is.
