Policies of the Funeral Service Education Program

About the Program

The funeral service program is primarily a face-to-face student experience, requiring attendance at the OTC Main Campus located in Statesboro, Georgia. This is not an online program. Although many of the general education courses and fundamental occupational courses can be taken online, the vast majority of funeral service courses require weekly attendance at the main campus.

Students enrolled in hybrid funeral service classes will attend the main campus on a scheduled day, each week. These sessions will be designed to incorporate more face-to-face lectures and study sessions for students along with testing and/or labs. Students are expected to be on campus on the assigned class dates.

Transfer Credit

Transfer students may receive transfer credit from another accredited college or university to satisfy the requirements of the general education and fundamental core courses. Students may not register for any course within the Funeral Service Education program until ALL General Education and Fundamental Occupational courses are completed successfully.

The Funeral Service Education program does not accept transfer credit of the Occupational program courses.
