RNSG 1606 Concepts of Maternal Nursing Care

Focus on the role of the nurse in meeting the physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental needs of the

maternal client. This course includes the reproductive system and disorders of the reproductive system, antepartum,

intrapartum, postpartum care, complications related to pregnancy and delivery, newborn care, human growth and

development, care of the pediatric client, and complications related to the pediatric client. Nutrition, pharmacology,

cultural diversity, use of technology, communication, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, critical thinking, and

application of the nursing process are integrated through the entire course.
