Classroom Safety Regulations
Safety regulations regarding the use and maintenance of all equipment are available to students in a comprehensive binder located in the main storage closet. It is imperative that these standards are adhered to in order to maintain a safe and clean environment in the classroom and in the laboratory.
Food and drinks are NOT permitted during labs, rounds, or testing. Permitting or prohibiting food and drinks during lecture times will be left to the discretion of the instructor of that course. Student break areas are provided in each building for your use.
Protective gloves, glasses, gowns, and masks are available for use.
Each student should be familiar with the following information and safety aids found throughout the program area:
FIRST AID/EMERGENCY KIT: A first aid kit is in a clearly marked container in room OSB 882, the Treatment room. If it is necessary to remove supplies from the first aid kit, an instructor should be notified as soon as possible to assure it is fully equipped.
SAFETY DATA SHEETS (SDS): Safety Data Sheets are in the Processing area, room OSB 885. They are also available online at: OTC Safety Data Sheets
EYE WASH STATIONS: Eyewash stations are located in both laboratory classrooms (OSB 881 and OSB 857), the Treatment room (OSB 882), and Treatment storage (OSB 886).
SHOWER STATIONS: Emergency shower stations are located in the Men’s and Women’s bathrooms, Rooms OSB 874 and OSB 880.
