Admission and Enrollment Requirements
Admission to the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program at Ogeechee Technical College is competitive and selective. Meeting the admission criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Prospective students must attend a mandatory Competitive Admissions Workshop and submit all required documentation listed below to be considered for admission.
Required Application Materials:
1. A completed Letter of Intent for the ASN program
2. Official high school transcript
3. Official college transcripts from all previously attended institutions
4. Copy of a current Practical Nursing (PN) license, if applicable
5. A minimum overall score of 75% on the HESI A2 Entrance Exam (Through December 31, 2025)*
6. A minimum overall score of 65% on the TEAS 7 Entrance Exam (Starting January 1, 2026)
* A student with a HESI test score taken from 1/1/2025 to 12/31/2025 may have that score considered for competitive admission through 12/31/2026. HESI test scores will not be accepted for admission starting on January 1, 2027.
Once all application materials are received, applicants will be evaluated using a standardized admissions rubric. Selected candidates will be contacted by admissions staff regarding their application status. All applicants are evaluated using a point-based system designed to identify those with the highest potential for academic and clinical success.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
- Complete all prerequisite courses by the published deadline.
- Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA in prerequisite coursework.
- Take the designated Pre-Admission Assessment Exam at Ogeechee Technical College and meet the required score.

The Pre-Admission exams are timed, comprehensive assessments that include the following: Vocabulary and General Knowledge, Reading Comprehension, Science, Grammar, Math and Anatomy & Physiology. Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete A&P I and A&P II before attempting the pre-admission exam.
Tiebreakers
Highest weighted Pre-Admission exam score will determine ranking. Note: A TEAS 7 Score of 65% is equal to a 75% HESI A2 exam score. If a tie remains, the cumulative GPA in prerequisite courses will determine ranking.
