The Esthetician Certificate program is designed to offer esthetics training for entry-level students. Completion of the program prepares students to sit for the Esthetics licensure examination given by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and to work in a variety of professions that employ estheticians in beauty salons, spas, health clubs, cosmetic stores as well as plastic surgeons’ and dermatologists’ offices.
The Esthetician Certificate program is an in-demand program with limited seats for each cohort. Each cohort generally accepts 16 students. It is important to understand that acceptance into the program for a semester does not guarantee registration into a cohort during that semester. Registration for Esthetician courses will be on a first-come, first-served basis for 16 students. An Esthetician Day will be offered in the Fall and Spring semesters for registration into Esthetician courses.
Employment Opportunities
Estheticians are eligible to work as a salon or day spa esthetician, medical esthetician, makeup artist, manufacturer’s representative, salesperson or sales manager, cosmetics buyer, esthetics writer or editor, educator, and state licensing inspector or examiner.

After obtaining a passing score on both the written and practical examination, a candidate must submit an application for licensure to the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology with the appropriate fee.
