EMSP 2206 Paramedic Capstone Field Internship

This final capstone experience provides paramedic students with the opportunity to apply the full scope of their education in a supervised field setting. Students function under the guidance of an approved preceptor while serving as team leader on a variety of advanced life support (ALS) calls. Emphasis is placed on real-time decision making, team coordination, patient management, and professional conduct. This course is designed to ensure students demonstrate entry-level competency in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. Students must meet all Student Minimum Competency (SMC) requirements, including successful completion of a required team leads, prior to course completion. This course is designed in accordance with the 2021 National EMS Education Standards and is further guided by both the National EMS Scope of Practice Model and the Georgia Scope of Practice. These scope documents define the clinical and operational expectations for paramedic-level practice.
