Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Repair Technician Certificate (HVR1)

The Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Repair Technician TCC is designed to prepare experienced automotive technicians to service, diagnose, and repair hybrid or fully electric vehicles in a general repair shop. The program emphasizes hybrid/electrical vehicle operation and systems diagnosis and repairs. Emphasis on personal and overall shop safety with high voltage batteries will be addressed. Graduates will be able to obtain industry certification in the Hybrid/Electric Vehicle area.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of this program will be able to be employed in any general repair shop as a hybrid and EV service technician.

Admissions Criteria

  • Be at least 19 years of age;
  • Submit official high school transcript or GED transcript;
  • Submit official college transcripts, if applicable;

Other Admission Conditions:
Students enrolling in this TCC should be graduates of the advanced level auto tech programs or experienced service technicians working in field with requisite ASE or OEM certifications demonstrating adequate knowledge and experience in auto electrical systems, engine performance, and auto chassis systems.
