Eligibility-Requirements

The following criteria must be met to be considered for federal and some state financial aid:

Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
Have a valid Social Security number.
Be enrolled in an eligible program of study. Have a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
Make satisfactory academic progress.
Register with the Selective Service, if required (males only).
Must not be in default on any federal student loan and/or owe a refund on a student aid program. Agree to use any funds received for educationally-related purposes.
Certify that they will not engage in the unlawful manufacture, distribution, possession, or use of a controlled substance.
Meet all other requirements of the program.

To receive state aid from Georgia, a student must also:

Maintain legal Georgia state residency or
Be military personnel, military spouse, or dependent child stationed in GA on active duty or list GA as home of record.
Be granted a military out-of-state tuition waiver.
