GFA Film & Television Post-Production (GF31)

This program is offered in collaboration with the Georgia Film Consortium. It provides an introduction to the skills used in film and television post-production including video and audio editing. In addition to the use of topical lectures and instructional resources, the course includes demonstrations of equipment, software and industry standards as well as hands-on learning experiences. Students will learn film production organizational structure; job descriptions and duties specific to post-production; film equipment functions and protocols; how the various film craft related to one-another on a working set as well as how and why they all must operate in sync; and networking and self-marketing skills.

Employment Opportunities

Students who complete a post-production track can expect to begin as an edit assist for feature level productions, and then advancing to higher level positions such as video/audio editor, colorist, graphics or motion graphics artist or special effects technician. For smaller production outlets such as broadcast facilities, commercial or corporate production companies an editor may start at a higher level expected to edit video and audio, create and work with titles or graphics and output finished productions for broadcast or upload.
